Hi, I am Obed Esquivel-Pickett.
BACKSTORY
I was raised in the Rio Grande Valley and have been living in the Houston area for the past five years. I'm a husband, the youngest of two siblings, and a proud uncle to eleven amazing nieces and nephews.
What started as a side hustle quickly turned into a true passion. I had the great fortune of learning from two incredibly talented wedding photographers, Anahi and Edgar Navarro, whose mentorship shaped not just my technical skills, but my heart for storytelling. For over 10 years now, I’ve had the honor of capturing love stories, big and small, across the country.
WHY WEDDINGS
Weddings are way more than celebrations or a “big day”, they’re the beginning of something long-lasting. They're filled with joy, nerves, beauty, laughter, the kind of emotion you simply cannot fake and hugs you will never forget. For me, getting to witness all of that is truly a privilege. When I’m on the dance floor, camera in hand, chasing that perfect shot, it’s like everything else fades, and I’m feeling completely in the zone. I understand the weight of this commitment and the responsibility of documenting it, not just because it’s my job, but because I’ve lived it too.
THINGS I LOVE
When I’m not behind the camera or editing pictures, you’ll probably find me spending time with the family, watering my jungle of indoor plants, catching up with a friend at a local coffee shop, getting lost in a teary-eyed film, walking through the neighborhood, or diving into another DIY project around the house. I just love the simple little things, and that probably explains why I love photography so much.
